Since our opening in January 1996, we have built reputation for serving up a truly authentic Irish experience. Being in the heart of Davis Square, we're only steps from the red line and Somerville Theatre and just a short walk to Tufts University.
In addition to a great menu and wide selection of drinks, we have become the hottest live music venue, with nightly shows featuring local, national and international acts. Shows include all genres from Irish Traditional, Folk, Americana, Bluegrass and Jazz, to Rock, Pop, Indie and everything in between.
Our Guinness beef stew, vegetarian shepherd's pie and Fish and Chips are guest favorites. We also boast a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options.
Enjoy one of our signature cocktails, a glass of wine or draft beer, while you enjoy the ambience, some good conversation and great live music.

The Burren Backroom Series Volume 1
CD featuring some of the best tunes from The Burren Backroom Series so far.
These songs & tunes were recorded between October of 2011 & August of 2014. They represent the diversity of the traditional music performed at The Burren, which is known for its friendly, informal, & invitational sessions that
celebrate not just traditional Irish music, but Bluegrass, Appalachian, Country, Blues, Jazz, & Rock.
In collaboration with WGBH, the public media powerhouse in Boston, a new series known as The Burren Backroom Series was launched in 2011.
Hosted by Brian O'Donovan, & broadcast on his weekly program, A Celtic Sojourn, the series features traditional & contemporary music from around Ireland & the rest of the Celtic world.
This CD represents just 14 tracks from an already extensive library of recordings that keeps building. That the collection is labeled Volume 1, clearly suggests there is a lot more to come!
Grace Bay CD Release from The Burren owners, Tommy McCarthy & Louise Costello, now available online or at the bar.
Grace Bay is the first & long overdue recording from this couple who need no introduction to lovers of Irish music, on both sides of the Atlantic.
Though fine soloists in their own right, Tommy & Louise display an intuitively sympathetic approach to duet playing, surely the hallmark of good players. They produce in Grace Bay, a perfect blend of the regional styles of West Clare & North Galway."
...If I walked into a session with music that sounded like "Grace Bay" I'd be absolutely delighted..." - Irish Echo
